PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, Jan. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- doTERRA International recently made a donation to a mother's retreat hosted by the nonprofit organization, Hayden's Heart Inc. The retreat, "Healing of the Heart – A Retreat for Mamas of Angels" held in White Haven, PA was designed specifically for mothers who have lost a child due to heart diseases and defects. The retreat aimed to provide a support system of other mothers to accompany these women on their journey of healing, as they cope with the grief of losing a child. doTERRA's donation consisted of products that were included in gift baskets given to each mother in attendance at the retreat.
Hayden's Heart is a nonprofit organization that was created by Rob and Ady Dorsett after losing their son, Hayden, to a heart condition when he was only a few months old. The purpose of the organization is to raise awareness about Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) and to help families who currently have children with heart diseases. The foundation assists families with travel expenses and medical bills associated with CHD and other heart diseases. Health insurance doesn't always cover procedures, hospital stays, medication, or home care for CHD, so many families find themselves in financial distress while treating the disease.
Congenital heart defects (CHD) are the leading cause of all infant deaths in the United States. While many parents tragically lose their children to these kinds of heart diseases, there are still plenty of families fighting to save their little ones from the effects of CHD. Hayden's Heart Inc. strives to make it possible for struggling families to keep up with medical bills while they care for their child and seek the best solutions available.
As mothers gathered at the Healing of the Heart Retreat, they received support to help them cope with the stresses and grief that come with losing a child. Hayden's Heart uses fundraisers, events, and community outreach to provide comfort and assistance to families who have lost the battle with heart defects, as well as those who are still fighting. doTERRA was honored to provide products for the retreat and help Hayden's Heart to comfort these deserving mothers. If you are interested in donating to Hayden's Heart, learn more on their website.

doTERRA International and CHOICE Humanitarian Add to Nepal Relief Efforts
Deaths, injuries, and high risks of infection all resulted from the 2015 Nepal earthquake, but organizations like CHOICE Humanitarian were ready to help.
PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, Feb. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On the 25th of September, more than 600 people gathered to enjoy an enchanting evening at the CHOICE Humanitarian gala. In celebration of CHOICE Humanitarian's thirty years of service, the gala provided cultural entertainment and experiences from different countries around the world, helping their guests to see the rich culture that emanates from the poverty stricken countries that CHOICE works to assist, one of which is Nepal. In an effort to raise money to rebuild Nepal after the devastating earthquake in early 2015, the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation made a donation at the CHOICE Humanitarian gala to spur the match of contributions by other donors in attendance. CHOICE's event helped raise an outstanding amount of 600,000 dollars.
The successful gala was a part of Choice Humanitarian's continued efforts in raising money to provide relief for the Nepalese. After the earthquake took place on April 25, 2015, many Nepalese suffered from homelessness, starvation, disease, and especially infection. The aftermath of the earthquake left the Nepalese wandering the streets in search of water; even though that water was at high risk of harboring infectious diseases such as Dengue fever, malaria, typhoid fever, and Japanese encephalitis. At that point, infection had the potential to take more lives than the initial earthquake. The earthquake had also claimed many homes, schools, and markets, plummeting their economy.
In response to their devastating circumstances, CHOICE Humanitarian and the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation banded together to join in on the worldwide effort to help the Nepalese overcome this traumatic experience. Together, they were able to help the Nepalese get sustainable food, hygiene kits, and water purification tablets, as well as provide the people with the right tools to rebuild their beautiful country, restore schools back to their lands, and obtain jobs which helped boost their economy.
CHOICE Humanitarian's constant efforts to sustain communities and end worldwide poverty is changing lives and building a hopeful future. To learn more about CHOICE Humanitarian or how to make a donation, visit their website.
